BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

CITIZEN SCIENCE OPPORTUNITIES

Gardeners – Gardeners with GREEN thumbs are needed to maintain various gardens throughout the parks. There are 2 Butterfly Gardens and 1 Prairie Garden in need of some TLC. Take your pick!
Bluebird Box Docs – Dedicated volunteers are needed to monitor bluebird box trails throughout the parks once a week from March through August. Training will be provided.
Long-term Butterfly Monitoring – Volunteers interested in long-term butterfly monitoring are needed for transects at several parks. Must know your butterflies and must be able to attend a mandatory transect training meeting on Sat., March 27, 2010.
Breeding Bird Surveys – Highly skilled bird watchers are needed for these springtime surveys. Must be able to ID birds by sight AND song! GPS knowledge helpful but not a must. Starting in June for 5 weeks at Observatory Park in Montville.
