More Information on InfiniTree

Celebrate Geauga's Bicentennial, meet artists from the InfiniTree Geauga project and view the diverse variety of projects created from just one tree! From woodcarvings & musical instruments to fine furniture...there's sure to be something for everyone!

The InfiniTree, a 175-year-old sugar maple tree, was removed from the sugarbush at Century Village in Burton in December of 2004 due to decay and danger of windfall. The tree was no longer producing sugar, leaning to one side and in rapid decline.

Yet, with the help of 70 local artists, InfiniTree will have everlasting life! The artists will transform the tree’s bark, branches, leaves, sawdust and wood into a wide variety of pieces including furniture, sculpture, musical instruments, walking sticks, paper, and much more.

Meet some of the participating artists and have an opportunity to view and purchase the projects at the opening reception, Meet the Artists: InfiniTree Geauga to be held on Sunday, April 9th from 2-4 p.m. in The West Woods Nature Center located at 9465 Kinsman Road (Rt. 87), in Russell Township.

All projects will be on exhibition at The West Woods Nature Center during the months of April through June of 2006.
