School Programs

Containing a remarkable diversity of natural habitats and wildlife, Geauga Park District offers ideal sites for outdoor learning experiences to enhance your school curriculum or youth group programming.

These educational programs are designed to nurture what famous naturalist Rachel Carson so eloquently identified as the inborn “sense of wonder” for the natural world around us. These programs introduce or reinforce Grade Level Indicators in the Ohio Academic Content Standards for Science. Geauga Park District's Nature Scopes program is a special offering to Geauga County 5th Grade classes.

Field Trip Funding

Geauga Park District Foundation wants to help you bring your students out of the classroom and into the natural world. As schools face increasing financial pressure, the Foundation wants to work with your local PTO group and provide needed transportation funding so Geauga County students can participate in Park District programs and exhibits. Please contact Geauga Park District's Development Office at 286-9516 for details. Or download the application below.

Arts in Nature Programming

Geauga Park District honors the strong connection between the arts and nature. There are many opportunities throughout the year. To name a few, there is a comprehensive schedule of Arts in Nature programs that include free art displays and musical concerts. Arts workshops are held throughout the year. And each month there are gatherings for the Shutterbugs Camera Club and the Maple Town Tune Traders Jam Sessions.
