Memorial & Honor Giving

Memorial and honor gifts allow citizens the opportunity to remember a friend or loved one in a public way for years to come. Amenities which can be dedicated “in memory of” or “in honor of” someone include park benches, bluebird houses and engraved paving stones at The West Woods Nature Center. If not directed for a memorial item, a gift of cash in any amount is welcome. All gifts are listed in the Annual Report.

Benches – $500.00 each

This tribute gift offers you the opportunity to dedicate a bench in a beautiful and serene location in one of many Park District parks. The 4” x 2” plaques are mounted on the top slat of the bench back and are made of vinyl-coated, bronze or gold colored aluminum for elegance and durability. Bench location requests must be approved by Geauga Park District, which reserves the right to ordain placement. Current opportunities for bench plaques include:

Beartown Lakes Reservation
Big Creek Park
Frohring Meadows
The Maple Highlands Trail
Sunnybrook Preserve
The West Woods
Bass Lake Preserve
Orchard Hills Park

Dan and Helen Moon on the Bass Lake bench dedicated to them for their 50th wedding anniversary in July 2011.

Bluebird Boxes – $100 each

Plaques are available on Bluebird boxes in several park locations.

Your plaque will be mounted on the side of the box and may have nearby trail access.

Engraved Paving Stones – $100 each

Geauga Park District Foundation welcomes your personal message on a paver at The West Woods Nature Center in the walkway approaching the front doors and in the adjoining patio.

Paver orders are received year-round, but placement of pavers occurs each autumn.
