Under the general supervision of our construction foreman, this role is responsible for production and installation of some of the projects that give our parks personality and a “sense of place,” things like boardwalks, overlook platforms, bridges, trails, restrooms, buildings and lean-tos for camping. Applicants should have skills in the construction trades — general carpentry, electric and masonry, plumbing, painting and excavation and welding — as well as the ability to fell trees, erect signs and operate/maintain equipment, and at least three years of experience. The position pays $22 hourly.
If you enjoy a good build and reap a strong sense of accomplishment for meaningful work, you might be a perfect fit for our construction team.
Would you like to work outdoors during the warm weather months and take pride in keeping parks clean, safe and welcoming for the community? This seasonal role pays $14 per hour and offers hands-on experience supporting the Grounds & Facilities team with mowing and trimming, cleaning park facilities and restrooms, disposing of trash, posting public notices, and setting up for programs and exhibits. It is ideal for someone who doesn’t mind hard work, can handle heavy physical activity in varying weather conditions, and is available to work an irregular schedule that may include weekends and holidays. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record, and be comfortable operating tools, mowers and trucks. We also are seeking someone who appreciates the Park District’s mission to preserve, conserve and protect the natural features of Geauga County.
Masters of all trades, we’re looking for you — or any quick learners who’re eager to do it all!
