For Teachers School Programs

Geauga Park District can offer your class outdoor learning experiences to enhance your curriculum, introducing or reinforcing Grade Level Indicators in the Ohio Academic Content Standards for Science.

Our naturalists also provide premier youth group programming.

Is field trip funding an issue? The Foundation for Geauga Parks wants to help you bring your students out of the classroom and into the natural world, and will work with your PTO group to provide transportation funding for these trips. For information, call 440-564-1048.

Program-Themed Tubs & Virtual Naturalist Programs

Would you like a naturalist to visit your classroom virtually?

If so, you’re in luck! Our Naturalist Department is now offering seven virtual programs for schools – plus, program-themed tubs for each program that can travel to your classroom to enhance student learning.

Virtual Program Details (with Contents of Optional Tubs)

Two program-themed tubs are available for each of the following programs:

  • Amphibian Awakening
  • Feathered Friends
  • Geauga’s History: Written in Rock
  • Geauga’s Wildlife: Past & Present
  • Insect Extravaganza
  • Weather Wizardry
  • Wildlife Detective Training

Scheduling should be done through Program Coordinator Denise Wolfe at 440-226-2877 or dwolfe@geaugaparkdistrict.org.

Tubs can be picked up from The West Woods or dropped off upon request at your school. The same is true after the program is complete – you can drop it off at The West Woods or request that it be picked up from your school.

We’ll look forward to “seeing” you again soon in the schools!
