SEASONAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

 

Job Description

 

Would you like to work outdoors during the warm weather months and take pride in keeping parks clean, safe and welcoming for the community? This seasonal role pays $14 per hour and offers hands-on experience supporting the Grounds & Facilities team with mowing and trimming, cleaning park facilities and restrooms, disposing of trash, posting public notices, and setting up for programs and exhibits. It is ideal for someone who doesn’t mind hard work, can handle heavy physical activity in varying weather conditions, and is available to work an irregular schedule that may include weekends and holidays. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record, and be comfortable operating tools, mowers and trucks. We also are seeking someone who appreciates the Park District’s mission to preserve, conserve and protect the natural features of Geauga County.

LAND STEWARD

 

Job Description

 

Do you love rolling up your sleeves to care for the land and protect Ohio’s natural heritage? Join our land steward team, where your work will directly support the health, beauty and biodiversity of our parks.

This hands-on, full-time position pays $22 per hour and focuses on developing and implementing land management strategies across park properties. Responsibilities include habitat restoration, invasive species management, wildlife monitoring and other conservation projects, along with operating and maintaining equipment, using GPS/GIS technology, and collaborating with staff, partner agencies and the public. The role may also assist with educational programming and supervise seasonal staff and volunteers.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in natural resource management or a related field, or an associate degree with three years of relevant field experience, and experience in GIS and GPS would also be helpful.

SEASONAL ROPES COURSE GUIDE

 

Job Description

 

Would you love to encourage people ages 10+ to push their limits in the Great Outdoors? As an operator of our 32-foot-tall high ropes course at Claridon Woodlands, you’ll be fitting guests with climbing gear, providing safety instructions, and assisting participants as they navigate the course. You’ll also help inspect equipment and perform light maintenance as needed. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys teamwork, adventure, and interacting with the public, offering 32+ hours per week for about 15 weeks and paying $14 an hour with all required training provided.

High ropes guides have been described by patrons as helpful, knowledgeable and able to “make me feel safe.” If this sounds like you, we’d love to have you apply.
