About the Geauga Park District K-9 Fund
K-9s Rotar (left) and Sniper (right) love meeting and greeting their neighbors in the county, strengthening community relations between law enforcement and the public. Both have assisted law enforcement in the county with school and vehicle sniffs for narcotics with success, and even located lost hikers in the park. They are trained in narcotics and obedience, state certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Association, and nationally certified by the North American Police Work Dog Association. K-9 Rotar is also certified in article search and tracking.
To help maintain this unit, donations may be made by check or cash; make checks out to Geauga Park District K-9 Fund to ensure your donation is placed in the proper account.
Donations are tax deductible, so please also provide your name, address and phone number so we can ensure
you receive a proper receipt for your contribution. With questions about this fund, contact the Ranger Department at (440) 279-0824, Ranger Ed Hunziker (Rotar) at email@example.com or Ranger Denise Weisbarth (Sniper) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Both dogs also regularly visit schools and safety towns, pancake breakfasts and parades, festivals and science fairs, nursing homes and special events in and out of the parks. Residents may request a K-9 appearance at a special event or for an informational talk or demo by contacting Lt. Ranger Dennis Sloan at 440-279-0819 or email@example.com.
