    Geauga Park District’s high ropes and boat borrowing seasons both open this Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 25. Plan to take advantage of them by referring to the information below!

    Please be sure to read all the information on this page before you head out to climb.

    Reservations are highly recommended; walk-ins will be accepted as space is available.

    Access is free to all Geauga County residents (ID required) and $20 for out-of-county residents (credit card only, paid onsite), up to 10 people at a time. Please note that ONLY Geauga County residents climb for free; residents’ out-of-county guests will be charged the $20 fee at check-in.

    This season, please always check the reservations module for availability. High ropes will typically be open for hour-long sessions Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 and 3:30 p.m.; and Mondays and Fridays at 12:30, 2, 4:30, and 6 p.m.

    Thursdays are available for outside camp or corporate groups with variable schedules based on group needs, and require at least two weeks’ prior notice to reserve. Contact Trevor at twearstler@geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-226-2548 for more information.

    Kayak, canoe & paddleboat borrowing at Headwaters Park

    Please be sure to read all the information on this page before you head out for a boat.

    All times are first come, first served. Geauga County residents can borrow boats for free (ID required), up to two hours for canoe and kayak and one hour max for paddleboats. For out-of-county residents, boat borrowing costs $7 for child kayak, $10 for adult single kayak, $14 for tandem kayak or canoe, and $18 for paddleboats (credit card only, paid onsite).

    This season, the park’s limited number of kayaks, canoes and paddleboats will be available to borrow Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last boats out at 4 p.m.; and Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 7 p.m., with last boats out at 6 p.m.

    Please note that enough Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices must be on board for each occupant (provided), life vests must be worn at all times, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and sorry, dogs are not permitted on borrowed boats. Thanks for understanding!
